We decided to bring ultrasound in 2022, with great enthusiasm. This technology is used in aesthetics by being able to visualize all the underlying anatomy. We wanted to make sure we could actually see the structures and not a blurry cloud screen, so we invested in a high definition, high quality ultrasound device. This is a great device to scan the face with prior to injecting to study the anatomy and find blood vessels, especially in high risk areas. And when we feel its necessary we can also watch our injections under ultrasound visualization. We also like to use this tool when looking at old filler, nodules, or complications, and we can dissolve under ultrasound guidance as well.

How It Works

We use ultrasound gel and a probe which projects the images onto a screen. There is no radiation involved and it is a very safe device. The images are projected onto a screen to show bone, fat, muscle, filler, fluid, air, etc. Ultrasound waves are sound waves, so we have to be quiet during the scan, and we usually turn down the lights so we can see the images clearly.

We have been using the AV500 Accuvein to reduce bruising since 2022. And we are dedicated to making it a part of our process everyday. We are sensitive to our patients wants and needs and are aware that many of our patients do not want to bruise for many reasons. Many of them would like to keep their aesthetic treatments private and also have busy lives and can’t have downtime, therefore we purchased this device the risk of bruising. By minimizing bruising and visualizing veins, we can also minimize complications. Accuvein works by projecting near-infrared (NIR) technology to detect hemoglobin which allows us to see superficial veins. This tool can either be used to avoid veins during botox or filler injections, or to target veins such during a blood draw for PRF or an IV. It is safe to use around the eyes. It has significantly reduced bruising, especially around the eye area.

How It Works

Prior to injecting, we may use a device that flashes a green light onto your skin. This is completely safe and it is the accuvein showing us where your veins are. The green means there are no superficial blood vessels in that area, and the black/dark gray areas are where the superficial veins are, so we avoid these areas. Bruising and injection pain have significantly decreased since we started incorporating this into our regular practice. Bruising can still occur if the patient moves, if the injector isn’t precise, or if a vessel was slightly deeper or not visible.

We purchased this Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling device in 2022. There are many RF Microneedling devices such as Morpheus, Fractora, Secret, Profound, and the list goes on. We chose SylfirmX because it has the latest technology, 25+ clinical studies, and is very precise. There is significantly less risk of burns, scarring, and hyperpigmentation with this device. It has two modes, a strong safety profile, minimal to no discomfort, and minimal to no downtime. Sylfirm X uses very fine (300 microns to be exact) gold plated needles that heat up with radiofrequency energy to penetrate the skin at depths of 0.3mm-4mm. This means the full thickness of the skin is treated. Sylfirm X has two modes, it has a pulse wave mode which treats vascular skin conditions such as melasma, rosacea, sun spots, stretch marks and acne scars. The continuous mode treats mild skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven texture and tone, hair growth and large pores.

How it works: We apply topical numbing cream to the area for 10-20 min, then cleanse your skin. We treat each area with various depths and pulse waves depending on the condition of your skin, thickness of your skin, and the targeted goals. We space the treatments out between 2-6 weeks typically depending on the desired goal.
